I have taken up the practice of paying attention to how my body feels in spaces. Particularly when I am in spaces that I have not inhabited in sometime. Our bodies have honest memories. No need to pretend, be polite, or keep up appearances. The body lets you know if its association with a space is a fond memory or a reminder of trauma.
